Mixed Tape: James Blake/The Streets/ Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx/ Niki & the Dove/ Rye Rye/ Cut Copy/ Cults

Finally I got Internet. What a drought. Hope you enjoyed yourselves while I was gone?

Here are my latest Music finds (a bit of everything) surprise surprise:

  1. Ballade popish stuff from Blake, but surprisingly (?) good
  2. Some new tunes from The Streets, perfect ballad-y & pop-y for a sunday night
  3. Bit more electronic, soul-ish (? not the right word), chillout? -ok this one is hard to discribe, but definitely worth listening to, just get past the intro (Gil Scott & Jamie XX)
  4. A Mix of Dark sounds, Pop and some funky rythms makes Niki & Dove’s Mother Project the perfect chillout single
  5. Oh and probably TONIGHT’S FAVORITE: Sunshine by Rye Rye ft. M.I.A. – GOD, I love it. Funky, FUNKY! melody that reminds me of some other artist, I just don’t remember the name.
  6. And some more electronic pop stuff. A theme going on? Maybe. It’s the Sunday Mood, yes, lets say that. This song is good after the extremely heaviness of the previous 5 songs.*

James Blake – Limit to Your Love

The Streets – OMG

Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx – NY Is Killing Me

Niki and the Dove – Mother Project

Rye Rye ft M.I.A – Sunshine

and whatch their movie:

Cults – Go Outside

Cheers

*Please note the irony.
